Sambalpur: Eviction Drive Again in Sahu Colony Slum Area; Illegal Encroachments Removed from Laxmi Talkies Chowk-Fire Station Road

Eviction Drive by Sambalpur Municipal Corporation

Sambalpur: The Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) today carried out an eviction drive to clear illegal encroachments along the road from Lakshmi Talkies Chowk to the Fire Station.

Cabins and Shops Demolished

During the drive, officials removed structures like cabins and shops that were built illegally on roadside drains. They also demolished four shops and eight houses in the nearby Sahu Colony slum area, where encroachments had reappeared despite earlier evictions.

Warning from Enforcement Officer

Enforcement Officer Sushant Sahu stated that the eviction drive will continue. He urged the public not to build illegal structures on public roads and drains, warning that strict action would be taken against future encroachments.
