Sambalpur: More than five years have passed since the construction of the second bridge over the Haradjor in Govindtola. However, it is still not functional for public use. Despite having two bridges in the area, only one is currently being used for transportation.

Issues Preventing the Bridge’s Operation

Encroachment issues in the region have caused delays, but the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation’s enforcement department has not yet taken action to resolve them. Surya Panigrahi, the chairman of the ‘Sadhana’ organization, has raised concerns over this negligence.

Road Expansion Underway, But Bridge Remains Unused

Meanwhile, the road widening project from Jail Chowk to Govindtola is ongoing. However, the second bridge, built five years ago, remains non-operational due to unresolved issues.

The concerned organization has urged authorities to take immediate steps to resolve the problems and make the second bridge functional. This will ensure better transportation facilities for the public without further delay.
