Unruly Activities After Dark

Sambalpur: In Sambalpur’s main hospital (District Headquarters Hospital or DHH), antisocial elements regularly gather after dark. These people, including some hospital staff, are reportedly drinking alcohol near the main office building and leaving empty liquor bottles behind. Despite witnessing such activities regularly, no one is raising objections.

Security Presence But No Control

Although the hospital has assigned security personnel to patrol the premises, most of them are not performing their duties seriously. Some even allegedly participate in the gatherings. Due to poor coordination between the hospital administration and the private security agency, this issue continues without any proper control.

Insiders Involved in Alcohol Consumption

According to a hospital employee, every evening, a few outsiders and some staff members join together to consume alcohol inside the premises. As a result, empty liquor bottles are commonly seen in different parts of the hospital. Some employees working there are also reportedly involved in drinking.

Clean-Up Only During Official Visits

Interestingly, when senior officials plan a visit, the hospital is quickly cleaned and all signs of disorder are removed. This temporary clean-up hides the ongoing problem but fails to address the root issue.

Security Staff Allegedly Linked to Criminal Backgrounds

Shockingly, reports suggest that some security guards at the hospital may have criminal backgrounds. These guards have even been involved in creating disturbances on the premises. Due to this, local citizens and staff are demanding immediate attention and strict action from authorities to bring the situation under control.
