Sambalpur: Today in Burla, a college-going girl attempted suicide by jumping into the power canal near Netaji Chowk. She is a 16-year-old student from a government college in Bargarh and currently stays in a hostel while her family lives in Burla.
Reason Behind the Attempt
Reportedly, the girl had a heated argument with her family earlier. After that, she traveled from Bargarh to Burla in the morning and jumped into the canal from the bridge.

Timely Rescue
Fortunately, some locals who were present at the spot quickly noticed her struggling in the water. Without wasting any time, they jumped in and rescued her from the canal.
Medical Treatment
She was immediately taken to Vimsar hospital in a critical condition. Her family members soon reached the hospital. Now, her health is reported to be stable.
