Sambalpur: Waste is piling up throughout the city, and the streets are not regularly cleaned. Dirt removed from drains remains on the roadside for several days. The city’s waste collection strategy is failing, and residents are forced to dump their garbage on street corners due to irregular household waste collection. As a result, the environment is becoming polluted, and the stench is unbearable. Stray cows and dogs are frequently seen scavenging through the trash, leaving it scattered everywhere.

Poor Waste Management:

• Garbage is being transported across the city in open tractors, with waste spilling onto the roads during the journey.
• Pedestrians, particularly bikers following trucks, are frequently hit by flying debris.
• Despite regulations requiring covered waste transportation, this rule is flagrantly ignored in Sambalpur.
