A foreign woman created controversy by getting a tattoo of Lord Jagannath on her thigh. This incident led to public outrage, with many people considering it an insult to the revered deity.

Complaint Filed Against Tattoo Studio

The tattoo was done at Rocky Tattoos, a tattoo studio in Bhubaneswar. On Sunday, social activists filed a complaint against the studio at the Sahid Nagar police station. They demanded strict action against the studio owner, Rocky Ranjan Bishoi, for disrespecting Lord Jagannath. Following this, the police launched an investigation.

Tattoo Shared on Social Media

Reports suggest that the tattooed image was also shared on Instagram and WhatsApp. Social activist Sagar Kumar Sahu and others argued that this act hurt Hindu religious sentiments and dishonored Lord Jagannath. Meanwhile, activist Binduja Upadhyay urged authorities to arrest the tattoo artist.

Tattoo Studio Owner Apologizes

After the controversy erupted, Rocky Ranjan came forward and issued an apology. He explained that an Italian woman had visited his studio on Saturday and requested the tattoo on her thigh. One of his artists fulfilled her request. He also mentioned that he had reached out to the woman regarding the issue. However, removing the tattoo immediately could cause an infection, so she would either return in a month to remove it or modify the design with another piece of art.

Foreigner Apologizes After Public Backlash

As the controversy spread on social media, the foreign woman released a video message expressing her regret. She apologized to the people of Odisha, acknowledging that getting Lord Jagannath’s tattoo on her thigh was a mistake.

She Admires Lord Jagannath

In her message, the Italian woman stated that she deeply respects Lord Jagannath and worships Him daily. She admitted that placing the tattoo on such a part of her body was wrong and promised never to make such a mistake again.
