Sambalpur: Strict Action by VSSUT Administration; Disciplinary Measures Against 100 Students for Entering Prohibited Area, Five Female Students Ordered to Leave Hostel

Sambalpur: Following the tragic incident on April 10, when a girl student drowned and died in the fissure area inside the VSSUT (Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology) campus, the university authorities have taken strict action against many students.

Disciplinary Actions Taken

As part of the disciplinary measures, the university instructed five girl students to vacate their hostel immediately. Moreover, some students have faced grade penalties, with their grades being reduced to an “F.” In addition to this, the authorities have decided to impose a fine of Rs. 5,000 on certain students.

Mandatory Social Work Under Supervision

Furthermore, the university directed the students to carry out social work under the supervision of the DSW (Dean of Student Welfare). According to reports, VSSUT had earlier issued strict warnings prohibiting students from visiting sensitive and restricted areas. However, because the students ignored these rules, the university has now enforced these actions.
