Sambalpur: TPWODL Inaugurates 11 KV Underground Power Line in Sambalpur; More Than 5,000 Consumers to Benefit

Sambalpur: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Odisha Government, has officially launched an 11 kV underground power line in Sambalpur.

Project Details

The new power line starts from the 33/11 kV Power Substation at Ainthapali and stretches 1.9 circuit kilometers to Jyoti Market. Officials charged the line on May 14. TPWODL has spent Rs. 1.24 crore on this project.

Areas to Benefit

This underground line will ensure uninterrupted power supply to key commercial areas of the city such as Budharaja, Fatak, Jyoti Market, Deheripali, Shantinagar, and Matrubihar. According to TPWODL, more than 5,000 commercial and residential customers in these areas will benefit from the improved service.

Solution to Previous Issues

Previously, these areas often experienced frequent power disruptions. This new 11 kV underground feeder line will act as a backup system, helping reduce power outages.

Reliable Power During Festivals

Furthermore, TPWODL stated that this system will help deliver reliable electricity during the upcoming Sheetal Sasthi festival, ensuring residents and businesses face no disruptions during celebrations.
