Sambalpur: The Mahanadi bridge, connecting Sambalpur and Chaunrpur, has turned into a hotspot for suicides. Today, around 11 AM, a woman named Manjusha Meher (40) jumped off the bridge into the Mahanadi River.
Fell on Rocks Due to Low Water Level
Since the monsoon is over, the water level in the river has receded. As a result, Manjusha hit the rocks in the shallow area and suffered fatal injuries. Upon receiving information, the police rescued her and took her to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Mystery Surrounds the Incident
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a white car parked on the bridge around 10 AM, with a man talking to Manjusha. Later, she walked towards the edge, removed her slippers, and jumped. The reason behind her extreme step remains unclear.
