Sambalpur: Younger Sister-in-Law Dies Despite Elder Sister-in-Law’s Liver Donation; Passes Away During Treatment in Hyderabad

She donated her liver to save her younger sister-in-law (Sana Jaa), Umakanti Pradhan. However, despite all efforts, doctors could not save Umakanti’s life.

Liver Donation Brought Hope

Umakanti had been seriously ill for several days. Doctors informed her family that she urgently needed a liver transplant. Without hesitation, her elder sister-in-law, Pratima Pradhan, decided to donate a part of her liver. The surgery took place at a well-known hospital in Hyderabad, and everyone hoped for her recovery.

Treatment Failed to Save Her

Although the surgery was successful, Umakanti’s health did not improve. Despite continuous medical care, she remained in critical condition. Doctors tried their best, but sadly, she lost her battle for life. Eventually, yesterday she passed away while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad.
