13 years of wait is over, Sambalpur – Titilagarh Track doubling work is completed
Train ran on the new line
Sambalpur: The much-awaited dualization of the Sambalpur- Titilagarh railway section has been completed and empty trains have been running on a trial basis on the new line. The process for the duplication project of this 182 km long line started in 2009. The work of various parts was going on in stages. The last remaining part of the double line between De’Bahal-Bargarh-Barpali station has been completed and the train is running on it. On Friday, a speed trial was conducted between Debahal and Barpali in the presence of AM Chowdhury, South Eastern Circle Railway Safety Officer. Speed Trial has been successfully completed after SRS Shri Chowdhury visited for 2 days and inspected all the safety-related works of this new line.
Even after the statutory commissioning of this section, the train will run on it. As the rest of the section has already been commissioned, now the total 182 km of duplication and verification of main safety electrification has been completed. Also, the railway traffic problem in the Sambalpur Titilagarh section will be reduced to some extent and traffic will be smooth. It is hoped that more new trains may be sanctioned for plying on this route in the coming days.
