Sambalpur: 16-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Sambalpur Power Canal; Locals Express Outrage
Sambalpur: A 16-year-old boy, MD Kursid from Motijharan, drowned in the power canal in Sambalpur. According to fire department officer Sudam Kishku, the tragic incident occurred between 1 PM and 2 PM near the Chaunrpur Bridge. Kursid had gone to bathe with his friends in the canal when he was swept away by the water.

Rescue Operation
Around 4 PM, the fire brigade arrived at the scene and started searching for Kursid. After some time, they managed to retrieve his body from the canal.
Declared Dead at Hospital
Rescuers rushed him to the district hospital, but upon arrival, doctors declared him dead.
