Sambalpur: 27th Sambalpur Lok Mahotsav Begins Today; Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to Inaugurate

Sambalpur: The 27th Sambalpur Lok Mahotsav begins today with the entire city beautifully decorated for the grand cultural event. Various streets and junctions are lit up with colorful lights, creating a festive atmosphere.

Cultural Artists Arrive

Artists from both within and outside the state have already arrived to showcase folk art and cultural performances. Teams from Assam, including Bihu and Bada groups, Purulia Chhau dancers, and Nepali dance groups from Sikkim have reached Sambalpur. The main stage and decorative arches are also in their final preparation stages.

Inauguration Ceremony

The temple priests will hold a worship ceremony at the Maa Samaleswari Temple at 9:30 AM tomorrow, and the city will organize a grand cultural procession afterward. Many artists from the district and other regions will participate. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will formally inaugurate the event in the evening, while Sambalpur MLA Jaynarayan Mishra and several other dignitaries will attend the occasion.

Final Preparations and Meetings

Various sub-committees held final preparation meetings today to ensure the event runs smoothly. The media committee visited the event venue to assess promotion requirements. Key committee members like Bhavani Shankar Bhoi, Amalendu Nayak, Manas Ranjan Bakshi, Manas Sahu, and district information officer Soumya Surabhita Pati participated in the discussions.

Felicitation and Literary Events

A separate preparation meeting was held at the event venue by the Felicitation Sub-Committee. Several prominent figures, including convenor Lalit Mohan Bebarta and senior member Kartik Prasad Bohidar, joined the discussions.

On the 6th of this month, the Sambalpuri Poetry Recitation will take place, with participant registration starting from 10 AM, as informed by committee convenor Atish Kumar Satpathy.
