5 secretaries and the chief administrative secretary in Sambalpur to review the development work of the Samaleswari temple
Sambalpur: 5 secretaries, VK Pandian, and Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra have arrived in Sambalpur to evaluate the Samaleswari temple’s development work. Along with the two top officials, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinnil Krishna, Public Works Secretary Vir Bikram Singh, and Sambalpur District Magistrate Divyajyoti Parida paid a visit to the Samaleswari temple and assessed the temple’s development efforts. They then went to the Aalati Ghat on the Mahanadi River. When the senior authorities arrived, Sanjay Babu, Chairman of the Samaleswari Temple Trust Board, greeted them. VK Pandian, 5 secretaries, and Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra have arrived in Sambalpur to evaluate the Samaleswari temple’s development work. They then visited the Aalati Ghat on the river Mahanadi. Arriving here, Sanjay Babu, Chairman of the Samaleswari Temple Trust Board, welcomed the senior officials.
Notably, the state government has come up with a plan for the development of the temple area of Ma Samlei, one of the most famous Devi Peeths in the state, Sambalpur.
A letter from the Department of Public Works was submitted to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard. The state government has launched the Samaleswari Temple Area Management & Local Economy Initiatives (SAMLEI) scheme for the development of the 16th-century Ma Samaleswari Peetha. In the financial year 2021-22, Rs 200 crore will be spent on the development of 108 acres of land in and around Samaleswari Peeth. The project will focus on beautifying the Mother Temple, developing the local economy and creating a unique experience for tourists and devotees. According to the Samlei scheme, the area of the Mother Temple is located on 12 acres of land. So the queue management system, the Bhogmandapa and the Pujari restrooms will be built for the devotees so that the devotees from here can visit the mother.
