8th Annual Celebration of Jugar-2021 (ଜୁଗାର- ୨୦୨୧) and launch of Jugar (ଜୁଗାର) Annual Magazine by Sambad (ସମ୍ବାଦ) @ Sambalpur
Sambalpur: Primary education should be given in the mother tongue. Music and literature should be the main means of propagating their own language. According to Article 347 of the Constitution, , there is an alternative provision for official recognition of the language.Inaugurating the eighth annual launch of Sambalpuri / Koshli magazine ‘Jugar’ of ‘Sambad’ on Monday, ‘Asmita-2021’, the chief guest, Shri Mohapatra, said, “Many states in India have two official languages.” If the people of our region demand the recognition of Sambalpuri / Kaushali as the second official language of Odisha under Article 347 of the Constitution, it will be easily available.
In addition, in Western Odisha, at least up to the third grade should be taught through Sambalpuri, Mr. Mohapatra suggested. Sambalpuri music has a lot to do with promoting this language and introducing it to the world . But Sambalpuri literature has not been as developed. Sambad’s efforts to develop Sambalpuri literature through Jugar are commendable. Mr. Mohapatra, however, opinioned that there were many more such literary magazines and publications should be published.
The event was presided over by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Editor of Sambad and was graced by the Director of ICRISAT, Dr. Arvind Padhi . “Mobile and the Internet are unknowingly taking us away from happiness,” said Arvind Padhi. Many think that money, respect, relationships, etc. can make us happy in life. But all of this is temporary happiness. Research now shows that positive attitudes play a key role in making us happy. We can be happy because of our nature and our actions. We can find happiness in overcoming the negative aspects of life and adopting a positive attitude. Enjoy your relationship no matter what. Living with the present by forgetting the past or not worrying about the future. Give more importance to your family members than mobile phones. Helping each other. Likewise take care of your health. Sleep at least seven and a half hours a day. “We must be happy to take all these steps,” he said. “We will never be sad in our lives if we have a relationship with our motherland,” he said. He also supported Mr. Mohapatra’s proposals for the development of the language.
Speaking as the guest of honor at the event, Sambalpur District Magistrate Shubham Saxena said the Sambad’s efforts for the development of the local language were innovative and commendable. This has given poets, writers in our region a unique opportunity to develop their creations. He hoped that the long-running ‘Jugar’ magazine would be even more accessible.
In his presidential address, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, editor of Sambad, said that Sambalpuri / Kosli is the language of the 21st century. Because it is a very simple and easy language. It can be called computer-friendly language. Mr. Patnaik said that everyone should have a little sweet pride in their language. So there should be no jealousy for other languages. “Only then can all languages be enriched,” he said.
Music director Shankar Pradhan, vocalist Pankaj Jal, vocalist Reena Das and fashion designer Sujit Meher were felicitated on the occasion. Arvind Das, Editor of ‘Sambad’, introduced the guests while Laxmi Narayan Hota, Editor-in-Chief, invited the guests to the forum. Finally, Branch Manager Gajendranath Mallick thanked them. The “Lahiri” organization hosted a colorful entertainment program. Earlier, a huge Jugar Puja held at Maa Samaleshwari temple. The Jugar was marched around the city in a huge procession and brought to the meeting place. On the way, Ma Samlei’s Prasad ‘Jugar’ was worshiped and welcomed at various intersections.
