98,348 vacant positions in 41 Departments of the State Government
There is a shortage of officers in various departments of the State Government. Even though it is vacant, the government is not filling it. BJP MLA Mukesh Mahaling has raised a written query regarding the number of vacancies in government offices during the Assembly’s budget session. In response to MLA’s question, Skill Development & Technical Education Minister Pritiranjan Gharai responded on Tuesday that 98,348 posts are vacant in 41 departments of the State Government.
Minister of Skill Development and Technical Education Mr. Gharai said, 26,815 posts in the Health department are vacant. 21,844 posts are vacant in the School and Public Education departments. In the Home Affairs department, 7,315 seats are also vacant. Similarly, 5,829 posts are vacant in the Revenue and Disaster Relief department. 3,777 vacancies in the Higher Education department. 2,821 seats in the Agriculture department are vacant.
