Sambalpur: Festive Season is coming but SMC is keeping the City in the Dark
Sambalpur: The festive season has come. Everyone from the traders to the puja committee has been busy preparing for Maa Durga’s arrival. Common people are also very excited. In all this, there are problems coming in Sambalpur city. People are complaining about the increasing problems in the city of Sambalpur due to the negligence of the Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation. The garbage is not picked up, the drains are not cleaned in many places. Among many problems, the problem of streetlights is now the most difficult for people. The high-mast lights attached to various places in the city have become inoperable, while there are repeated demands to repair them, the high-mast lights in Kunjelpada Street have become completely inoperable.
As such, more than half of the high-mast lights on Modipada streets have deteriorated. As Durga Puja approaches, the number of criminal activities is expected to increase. Since then, the criminals have started looting openly and looted the gold shop at gunpoint, while the miscreants escaped, the police could not even find their trace. Intimidation and looting on the dark streets have become a common occurrence in Sambalpur. If the police do not take extensive action, there is a risk that this number will increase further.
On the other hand, it is widely discussed that if SMC does not repair the city’s darkness then it becomes a boon for criminals. In view of this, there is a demand to repair all the lights in the city that have fallen into disrepair before Durga Puja.
