Sambalpur: GM University Student found Hanging Case, Ghanshyam’s emotional letter to Mother before committing suicide

In the suicide note, he has expressed his frustration over continuous failure in competitive exams.

Sambalpur: “Sorry Maa I Quit“. This was the title of the last letter of GMU BCom final-year student Ghanashyam Karuan before suicide. He wrote this letter to his mother. The eyes of his mother, father, and brother couldn’t stop the edge of tears after reading that. Ghanshyam did not have enmity with anyone, nor did he have disagreements with anyone. He was ahead in academics, but his repeated failures in the competitive job exams worried him. Finally, he apologized to Mother and took the path of suicide.

Tearing out a page of his 2019 diary, he wrote in a suicidal note, “Mom, I love you so much. Mom, I’m really upset and broke inside, I gave a lot of exams but did not get cleared any, I got cleared by Odisha police, but not join. You, father, and brother will live well. Such an emotional letter has been received. Ghanashyam’s letter mentions that there is no hand behind the suicide of Ghanashyam, and he requested the police department not to harass and trouble the family (father, and mother) after the death. After receiving this letter, Ghanshyam is said to have committed suicide due to failing the exam for the job.

According to the information, The deceased student has been identified as Ghanashyam Karuan from Narla in Kalahandi. He was a Plus 3 final-year commerce student. Notably, he had come back to his room after appearing for the mid-semester examination. However, his roommate after returning from college found the door locked from inside. When he did not respond after repeated knocking, his roommate informed the hostel authorities, who informed the police. Police opened the door and found the student hanging from the fan of the room. Further investigation in this regard is underway.
