Sambalpur: Land fraud! Nephew Demolished uncle’s house, Human Rights Commission is Investigating
Sambalpur: A large-scale land fraud case has come to light in Sambalpur. A case has reached the Odisha Human Rights Commission after a man’s house in Bubarja was demolished by his nephew claiming that he had a house on his land. In such a sensitive case, Pranabendu Acharya, the DG of Police cum Director Investigation Odisha Human Rights Commission, has started an investigation after getting the smell of social fraud in such a sensitive case.
The role of the tehsil office and the police in the entire incident is being questioned. According to the complaint made by Abhedananda Panigarahi, a resident of Budharaja, to the Commission, on the 27th, his own nephew Abhishek Panda demolished the house in Budharaja. He showed a piece of paper saying that the land on which the house is situated belongs to him and started the demolition. Abhedananda was forced to go to the police station and sought the help of the police. When no one heard anything, he was forced to file a complaint with the Human Rights Commission. Abhedananda said the land is in his mother’s name.
He said that since the death of my mother in 2011, no purchase of land has been made and the land agreement has been created using fake documents. He said that he came to know that the land agreement was made by fraud immediately after he asked for the EC from the government official.
Despite the death of his mother and the Sale Deed, he collected copies of the notices sent in 2023 by the Tahsil office and complained to the commission that they were fraudulent. Human Rights Commission Director Shri Acharya reached Sambalpur and started the investigation today. He called the Tahsildar, Ainthapali police station IIC, the complainant to Sambalpur DIG’s office, and interrogated in the presence of the DIG.
In addition, it has been reported that he went to Abhedananda’s demolished house and visited it. Commission Director Shri Acharya did not give any response to the media while the DIG also refused to give any response as the investigation is ongoing. When asked about the sale deed and notice to the Tahsildar, he said that he could not say anything about it. On the other hand, contacted Nephew Abhishek Panda, who demolished the house, on his mobile phone, but he did not pick up the phone. The value of the land where the house has been demolished is worth crores and the role of the Tehsil office and the police is coming into question.
