Sambalpur: District Head Hospital Staff Caught Taking Money for Dialysis
Sambalpur: Dialysis, a crucial medical procedure for individuals with kidney problems, is intended to be a free service in government-run district head hospitals. Unfortunately, recent reports suggest that some staff at Sambalpur District Head Hospital are allegedly taking money from patients for dialysis services.
Kidney-related issues are on the rise, prompting the government to offer free dialysis services to cater to the needs of the underprivileged. Sambalpur District Head Hospital has been actively providing free dialysis services; however, accusations have surfaced regarding certain service providers demanding money from patients.
Reliable sources indicate that hospital authorities intervened upon discovering instances of staff accepting payments from patients. Following the investigation, the employee involved returned the money taken from two patients and was warned of consequences if such actions were repeated. Despite the warning, the employee has reportedly persisted in demanding 500 to 600 rupees from patients, citing the need for a dialyzer.
Dr. Ashok Dash, in charge of the hospital, has assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted into these allegations. The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) is overseeing the matter to ensure accountability and transparency in addressing these serious accusations.
