Sambalpur: Freight Train Incident Near Bamra Station, Rolls 200 Meters Without Engine
Sambalpur: A freight train on the third line moved near Bamra railway station in Mundadhipa in the afternoon, leaving the tracks to roll for 200 meters without an engine. It happened while a train from Raipur was on its way to the Jharkhand PSMM yard.
The coupling of rack number 24 became detached at the rear of the train near Mundadhipa. As a result, the engine moved the remaining 25 wagons forward for 200 meters. When the train guard saw what was going on, he warned the driver, and the train came to a stop. IOW staff from Bamra station came to the scene and reattached the torn bogie, restoring the train’s integrity.
Approximately 40 minutes later, at 3 p.m., the train started on its journey to its destination. However, the incident created a disruption in freight train traffic on the third line. The local assistant station master stated that higher authorities were aware of the situation. When questioned, Jharsuguda DTI Nilamadhav Sahu said he was unaware of the happening.
