Bajaj Auto is set to revolutionize the motorcycle industry with the introduction of the world’s first CNG bike, the ‘Freedom 125.‘ Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari unveiled this groundbreaking bike on Friday in Pune. The Freedom 125 features petrol and CNG fuel options, allowing riders to easily switch between them. This innovation is designed to be both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Affordable Pricing and Booking Information

The new bike is available for booking through Bajaj’s official website and authorized showrooms. The Freedom 125 comes in three variants:

  • NG04 Disc LED: Rs 1,10,000
  • NG04 Drum LED: Rs 1,05,000
  • NG04 Drum: Rs 95,000

The base ‘Drum’ variant starts at Rs 95,000. The LED variants are available in five different colors, while the non-LED Drum variant is offered in two colors.

Impact on the Two-Wheeler Market

The introduction of the Freedom 125 is expected to significantly impact the two-wheeler market in India. With its CNG technology, this bike promises to reduce fuel costs and lower emissions, making it an attractive option for environmentally conscious riders. The bike is designed to alleviate the financial burden of fuel prices, especially for those with a monthly income of Rs 30,000-40,000.

High Efficiency and Safety Features

One of the standout features of the Freedom 125 is its impressive mileage of 213 kilometers per kilogram of CNG, making it a highly efficient choice for daily commuters. The bike also includes a small petrol tank with a capacity of just two liters, likely serving as a reserve.

Bajaj Auto has emphasized safety, with the Freedom 125 undergoing 11 rigorous safety tests. Notably, in a ‘truck rollover test,’ the bike’s CNG tank remained intact and maintained its pressure even after being subjected to the weight of a truck.

Statements from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

During the launch event, Nitin Gadkari highlighted the importance of reducing India’s dependency on crude oil imports and promoting alternative fuels. He praised the growth of India’s automobile industry, noting that it has surpassed Japan to become the third-largest automobile market. Gadkari reiterated his vision of transforming India into a five trillion-dollar economy, emphasizing the role of the automotive sector in wealth and job creation.

Conclusion

The Bajaj Freedom 125 represents a significant step forward in motorcycle technology, offering a blend of affordability, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Its launch is poised to influence the market and set new standards for two-wheeler performance and sustainability.
