Sambalpur: The Lord of the Universe in Golden Attire, Sambalpur Immersed in Devotion, Waiting for the Next Year

Sambalpur: Lord Brahmand Gosain appeared in Sambalpur today on his sacred Rajarajeshwar or Suna Besha chariot, attracting thousands of devotees eager to witness the grand spectacle. Lord Jagannath, adorned in gold, blessed the devotees from the chariot. The magnificent ensemble featured a golden crown, earrings, waistband, and anklets. Lord Balabhadra wielded a golden plow and mace, and Lord Jagannath carried a golden disc and a silver conch. Goddess Subhadra wore a golden bracelet, a jeweled gown, and a variety of other ornaments.

Devotees in Awe

Devotees felt blessed when they saw the divine figures in their golden attires. Their chants of “Haribol” and “Jai Jagannath” reverberated through the air, intensifying the spiritual atmosphere. After many years, seeing the benevolent Lord Kalia in his golden attire brought many devotees to tears.

Return to the Temple

Following the auspicious Bahuda Yatra, the deities went back to their temple. The Rath Yatra drew a large number of devotees to Sambalpur’s 25 Jagannath temples. Despite the large crowds surrounding the chariots, devotees’ excitement remained high, aided by pleasant weather conditions.

Upcoming Rituals

Following the golden attire, the next ritual, the offering of Adharapana and Rasagola Bhoga, will occur tomorrow evening, Thursday. The deities will then perform the solemn Gambhira Bije ritual. Rath Yatra celebrations were held in a number of locations, including Brahmapura, Dadhivaman, Hotapada, Satyabadi, Madanamohan, Jangyavarah, Mudipada, Timini, Dhanupali, Balibandha’s Gopalji, Sakhipada, Golbazar, Khetrajpur, Badabazar, Bhatra, Budharaja, Remed, Gopalmal, Baidar Nuapali, and Dhankauda.

The city of Sambalpur is filled with devotion, eagerly awaiting the next year’s celebrations.
