Sambalpur Tops the Temperature Charts
Sambalpur, which experienced extreme heat during the summer, is once again dealing with high temperatures. Currently, it is one of the most popular cities in the state. The temperature today was 36.7°C. Over the last four days, the mercury has consistently risen above 35°C. On October 14, the city recorded 35.2°C, followed by 35.4°C on October 15, 34.8°C on October 16, and 36.5°C on October 17th.
Experts Express Concern Over Environmental Impact
Environmentalists are becoming more concerned about the consequences of deforestation and industrial pollution. According to environmentalist Subrat Nath, widespread tree-cutting for urban expansion is reducing green cover and contributing to rising temperatures. The spread of factories and the emission of toxic gases are also affecting the ozone layer, allowing direct sunlight to reach the ground. This is causing not only extreme heat but also a variety of skin disorders. Nath warns that if immediate steps are not taken to restore environmental balance, Sambalpur may experience even more severe heat waves this summer.
