Sambalpur: For the second consecutive year, the city of Sambalpur will host the Sambalpuri Dhanu Yatra, a festival celebrated in the Sambalpuri language. The journey to organize this event in the local language has been a long one. Finally, in March 2024, organizers held the first-ever Sambalpuri Dhanu Yatra, which received tremendous support and appreciation from the public. Artists wore traditional Sambalpuri attire, showcasing Sambalpuri art, culture, and decorations, bringing a unique Sambalpuri touch to the entire festival.
2025 Event Details
In 2025, the festival is scheduled to take place from January 15 to January 19. The venue will be the Gangadhar Mandap in Sambalpur, where several key highlights of the Yatra will take place. This year, the Gangadhar Mandap will again be transformed into Kansa’s Darbar (the court of the mythical King Kansa), while Chaunrpur will represent Gopapura.
