Sudden Collapse During Duty
Sambalpur: A home guard named Ramesh Bishwal (39) from Burla police station tragically passed away while on duty late last night. Suddenly, during his shift, he collapsed and lost consciousness. His fellow police personnel quickly responded and rushed him to Burla Medical using a police van.
Declared Dead at the Hospital
Upon arrival, doctors examined Ramesh and declared him dead. The police immediately registered a case of unnatural death and took custody of the body for further procedures. This morning, after the post-mortem examination, his body was handed over to his family for the final rites. Doctors suspect a heart attack as the cause of death.

Honored for His Dedication
Ramesh was known for his dedication to his duty. After the news of his death spread, many police officers and staff gathered at the Medical Police Outpost premises to pay their respects. His body was later taken from the outpost to the post-mortem house in a procession led by his colleagues.
Emotional Farewell and Family Grief
The procession echoed with emotional chants of “Ramesh Bhai Amar Rahe” (Long live Ramesh Bhai). Ramesh lived in the Nepalipada area of Burla city’s PWD colony with his father Rankanidhi Bishwal, his wife, a six-year-old daughter, and two brothers.
Final Rites Conducted
After keeping the body at his residence for some time, friends, relatives, and family members paid their last respects. Finally, the last rites were performed at the PWD cremation ground in Burla.
