New Twist in Naba Das Murder Case: Forensic Report Reveals Mystery; Raises Questions About Whether Gopal Was the Only Killer!

More Than One Gun Used in Nab Das Murder

The murder of former Odisha Health Minister Naba Das has taken a new turn. According to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) report, bullets were fired from more than one gun during the incident. This revelation challenges earlier claims that the accused Gopal Das acted alone. The possibility of other individuals orchestrating or participating in the shooting has raised serious questions.

Details from Crime Scene and Reports

The Crime Branch charge sheet and forensic findings shed light on the sequence of events:

  • On January 29, 2023, two vehicles arrived at Gandhi Chowk in Brajarajnagar. Naba Das was in the first car (OD 15 U 6197), while his associates were in the second car (OD 15 T 0183).
  • Gopal Das was found with a firearm containing 18 bullets, out of which three were live rounds. From the crime scene, officials recovered a used cartridge and an unused bullet.
  • Out of the six bullets in Gopal’s gun, one hit Naba Das’s chest, one misfired, and one was shot into the air.

However, SFSL’s findings revealed that five gunshot marks were observed on the second car, a white Innova with “Odisha Government, Health & Family Welfare Department” written on it. This raises questions about the origin of these shots and why their bullet casings were not recovered.

Unanswered Questions

The SFSL report has complicated the case, leaving several unanswered questions. For instance, who fired the additional shots? While Gopal’s firearm has been accounted for, five shots were found on the second car, raising the possibility that someone else fired them, perhaps mistaking Naba Das’s location. Additionally, critical items like the blood-stained shirt Naba Das wore, the car seat, and other crucial evidence were not seized by the Crime Branch, further deepening the mystery. With evidence pointing to the involvement of more than one gun, it raises the pressing question of who else participated in or orchestrated this high-profile murder.

Eyewitness Accounts and Overlooked Evidence

Witnesses such as Dwarikanath Panda and Shubhendu Pattnayak, who carried Naba Das to the car, had their clothes and other items seized. Yet, critical evidence like the bloodied car seat and Naba Das’s shirt remained uncollected, creating suspicion.

As investigators struggle to piece together the puzzle, new revelations continue to challenge the initial narrative. Determining the number of guns involved, identifying all parties, and understanding their motives are crucial to solving this high-profile case. Until then, many questions remain open, fueling public curiosity and speculation.
