Sambalpur: Today, the Durga Pali railway overbridge in Sambalpur was officially inaugurated. Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan carried out the inauguration ceremony. Importantly, the bridge was constructed in collaboration with the state government’s Public Works Department at a cost of Rs. 60.43 crore.

As a result, people will now experience smoother connectivity and improved safety. The overbridge will eliminate delays and risks caused by railway crossings, making travel faster and safer for trains and vehicles alike. Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that this project is a significant step toward modernizing Sambalpur district and enhancing its transportation system.

Future Development Plans
Looking ahead, the double-engine government plans to develop Sambalpur into a prosperous and advanced city. According to Pradhan, improvements will soon come in roads, drinking water supply, health services, and sanitation. Additionally, communication infrastructure will be strengthened. Sambalpur will also see the construction of a ring road and new internal city roads. Notably, a new bridge over the Mahanadi River will connect Burla and Hirakud towns.
