PM Narendra Modi offers prayers at kedarnath temple
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today arrived at the Kedarnath Temple in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand for worship.
Arriving at Dehradun airport in the morning, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by retired Governor of Uttarakhand Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second visit to the Kedarnath temple on the Mandakini River. He also visited the Kedarnath temple in 2014 to pay homage to Lord Shiva. The construction of the 35-tonne statue of Adi Shankaracharya began in 2014.
In addition, during his historic visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate a number of other projects there and lay the foundation stone of a Rs 600 crore Kedarpuri reconstruction project in the Himalayan temple area.
