Dhama police arrest one culprit after one month of robbery from microfinance field officer
Dhama: A field officer of the Sambalpur branch of Microfinance Company was robbed on January 3 after returning with collection of money. Months after the case, Dhama police on Tuesday arrested Arun Panda alias Lipun of Dhama, Radiapali and took him to court. Police only recovered the stolen bag and seized the bike.
According to the complaint, the bag contained more than Rs 82,000. But the police did not receive any money from the accused. It is still unknown where the stolen money goes and the other accused is still not arrested.
Notably, field officer Narayan Majhi was returning to Sambalpur at 4 pm on March 3 after collecting money. On Canal Road near Salasing, two strangers came on a bike and hit his bike. They threatened him and took the bag full of money from him and fled.
Narayan had lodged a written complaint with the Dhama police that day. According to his complaint, the bag he was holding was worth Rs 82,300.
