Sambalpur: The street light problem is not solved, half of the SMC city is in dark
The Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation (SMC) is in a state of disarray. Starting with sanitation, lighting, parking, roads are all common problems. Eight years have passed since the announcement of the Metropolitan Corporation. However, people in the city do not have access to this system. The main problem, however, is the illumination of the city. According to the metropolitan corporation, street lights have been installed on every street corner to illuminate the city. The city is said to have installed 18,000 lights. With so many lights on, the city’s main location is still dark. Similarly, in many places, instead of LEDs, sodium vapor lights are flashing. The national highway that runs through the city is now half light and half dark. Not only this, many roads in the city is in the dark.
At present, the bridge is being constructed on the Dhobijor canal on the Mudipada-Khetrajpur road, disrupting communication with the station. People are using the Fatak Road as an alternative. In the evening, the prevalence of antisocial behavior on Fatak Road is on the rise. So ordinary people do not like to travel on this road. In this case, the streetlights on the road are not well lit. It is very dark in some places. Many places like Ainthapali Road, Wesco Colony Area, Budharaja Bazaar Road, Panchagachia, Bhatra, Railway Colony Area, Fatak Road are still very dark. In such cases, the LED lighting system of the metropolitian corporation has been called into question.
