Sambalpur: Ragging at Private Educational Institution, Strip student naked and slapped with slipper
An unfortunate incident took place at a private institution in Sambalpur. A student living in the hostel was allegedly stripped naked and slapped by classmates with slipper. The student also complained to the hostel warden after he was released; But no action has been taken in this regard. On the other hand, two days after the incident, the student was able to report to his family due to a mobile cut-off in the hostel. The parents wrote a letter to the school, expressing their displeasure. In spite of the fact that the classmates involved had in such a heinous act with their son but they surprised that the school authorities remain silent.
On the evening of the 19th, the student was dragged into a room by some of his classmates. There they tied his hand and leg and he was stripped naked and beat him with footwear. After leaving the room, the student showed signs of handcuffs to Warden. Warden informed the chairman but no action was taken. The dormitory has restrictions on cell phones and home phone calls. So when the shift came, the student reported to his family on the 19th. The student’s parents were outraged by the incident and demanded immediate action as the child’s future education was being handed over. But no strict action was taken.
On the other hand, the Raging Free Campaign has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the School Mass Education Department demanding action. The State Human Rights Commission, the Chief Secretary’s Office to the Chief Minister’s Office, the five Secretaries and the Sambalpur SDP have also been informed.
