Sambalpur: Patients are getting low quality food at the DHH, water dal along with pumpkin vegetable is being given!
The government is spending billions on hospitals to provide nutritious food to patients.
Seven days a week with breakfast a variety of dishes are arranged for the patient to eat during the day and at dinner. A list has also been made of what day patients will be fed. However, the Sambalpur District General Hospital (DHH) has been accused of providing junk food and substandard food. The DHH contractor, Nirakar Security, is providing cooked food. With mixed with a lot of turmeric dal water , the pumpkin vegetable, fried ladies finger, soybean potatoes look the same as they are cooked and distributed to patients.
Many patients complain that they are throwing them away instead of eating because they do not taste good. There is a rule to give milk every day for breakfast. However, it is alleged that no milk was given. Even though there are rules for giving both chapati and rice at night. People with diabetes are also given two times rice. The result has been dissatisfaction among patients. Asked by the hospital manager, said everyone was being given delicious food. “Not everyone is given milk every day,” he said. “If the ward nurse writes, then milk will be given,” he said asked by CDMO Ashok Das in charge, he did not receive any such allegations.
