Sambalpur: 5 gates of Hirakud Dam are open

Sambalpur: From the Hirakud Reservoir today, floodwaters continue to discharge into the river through five spillways. The water level in the reservoir reached 630 feet at 9 pm on Tuesday.

During this time, 1,31,489 cusecs of water entered the reservoir, while 15,440 cusecs of water was discharged. Of this, 75,780 cusecs of water was spilled through the spillway and 35,274 cusecs of water was discharged into the river through the power channel. Similarly, 4,113 cusecs of water has been released into various canals for irrigation.
