Sambalpur: The incident of Two persons floating with a car, the dead bodies of both were recovered
Jamankira: Tapas Naik and his sister-in-law Pratap Patel of Jamankira block Gunduruchuan village were in had floated away their car in the Bartengra culvert near Naktipali village between Fachimal and Kenadhirapa in Sambalpur district on Saturday. The bodies of both were recovered on Sunday and sent for autopsy.
According to information, Tapas Naik and sister-in-law Pratap Patel of Jamankira block Gunduruchuan village of Sambalpur district were returning home in an Alto car at 7:00 pm on Saturday. There was a stream of water more than 3 feet deep on Bartengra culvert pole near Naktipali village of Kenadhirpa retreat in Jamankira block. Some people of Naktipali and Kenadipa villages refused to go by saying that it was not possible to go by alto car. But when Pratap, who was driving the car, reached the Baratengra ditch, he gathered courage and tried to cross the ditch by increasing the speed of the car. But after the car stopped in the middle of the Baratengra culvert pole and turned under the culvert, the car overturned and had floated away their car deep stream. Both of them tried to get out of the car but failed. Both died of asphyxiation. Jamankira firemen and ODRAF team reached the spot in the night even after searching couldn’t get any information. On Sunday morning, after the water flow receded, the dead bodies of both were recovered from the Alto car 100 meters below the pole. Kuchinda police team reached the spot and seized two bodies and sent them to Kuchinda for post-mortem and continued further investigation. It is worth noting that Tapas Naik (50), an organic farmer of Gunduruchuan village, lived in Delhi. When he hears someone in trouble, he immediately lends a helping hand.
