Sambalpur: Inspectorless Cyber Police Station, Frauds are looting crores
Sambalpur: Cyber fraud is increasing day by day in Sambalpur. Every day someone somewhere is a victim of cyber fraud. The fraudsters are robbing millions of rupees by fearing people to cutting off their electricity connection, and out of greed for credit cards, but there is no police in the cyber police station, Sambalpur to catch the cybercriminals.
The most important thing is that there is a rule that only an inspector-level officer can initiate cyber cases. In such a situation, the absence of a single inspector-level officer in the cyber police station has now raised questions about the behavior of the Sambalpur police. Before this, Inspector Padmasini Meher was a cyber police. However, after her transfer, the inspector of the cyber police station has become vacant. There is a need to have a permanent inspector in the police station. It has been going on since last June 26 without any permanent officer in charge. Not for weeks or months, there will be no inspector in the Cyber police station for almost three and a half months. On the one hand, people say that Sambalpur is the hub of cybercrime, on the other hand, people have raised questions about Sambalpur police not taking it seriously. While most of the fraud cases remain unsolved, cyber fraudsters continue to target people and defraud them of billions of rupees every day.
From last September 1 to October 7, a total of 11 cases have been registered in Cyber police station. Out of these 11 cases, 6 cases are related to fraud. Only the said 6 fraud cases registered in cyber police station, the fraudsters have defrauded more than 1 crore 5 lakh rupees since last September. However, the police have not succeeded in arresting any of the accused in these cases. Along with this there are other allegations.
