Sambalpur: Kosala and Hirakhanda State supporters clash during flyover launch
Sambalpur: The demand for separate state was raised today during the inauguration of Sambalpur’s much awaited flyover. However, it was seen that Kosala and Hirakhanda State supporters have come to face to face.
State Port Minister Prafulla Mallik was walking towards his car from the flyover launch site along with the District Collector and other officials. At this time, some strong state supporters hiding in the crowd suddenly started shouting slogans. A few youths holding red cloths and small banners with the Kosala state map raised slogans in favor of the Kosala state demand. A large number of police officers and staff were deployed there, but no one could get a clue in this connection. Seeing this situation, the police officers tried to arrest them.
However, Surekha Sahu, Women’s Coordinator of Hirakhanda Front, Pushpanjali Kerketta there was strong opposition from Kosala state supporters. Kosala tried to snatch the banners, red cloth etc. from the hands of the supporters of the state. Meanwhile, women police officers reached there and forcibly took them away. On the other hand, the male police officers took the Kosala supporters to the other side.
