Sambalpur: Tunnel will be constructed in Laxmidunguri at a cost of 37 crores

Sambalpur: The government has given its thumbs up on the much awaited Laxmidunguri tunnel construction project. Project Director of NHAI Nageshwar Rao has informed that Rs. 37 crore have been sanctioned by the National Highway Department of the Central Government. IIT Bhubaneswar has been given responsibility for its design. Meanwhile, a team from IIT has come to Sambalpur and inspected the said area. It is worth noting that during the rainy season, traffic is stopped on one side of the national highway due to heavy rainfall from Lakshmi Dunguri. Sambalpur-Bargarh is one of the busiest national highways and many accidents are happening due to the movement of vehicles. Since the construction of the national highway, there has been a demand to build a tunnel here.
