Sambalpur: West Odisha shivers in winter
Sambalpur: West Odisha is shivering in severe winter for two days. Cold wind doubles the fog and cold. According to the data of Regional Weather Center Bhubaneswar, the temperature of seven cities of West Odisha has dropped below 10 degrees on Sunday. Rourkela city’s temperature has dropped to a minimum of 6.4 degrees, Sundargarh 6.5 degrees, Jharsuguda 6.6 degrees, Bhawanipatna 7.2 degrees, Sonepur 8.5 degrees, Sambalpur 9.3 degrees and Hirakud has a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees. Similarly, the minimum temperature of Balangir is 10 degrees, Titilagarh is 11 degrees, Bargarh is 10.5 degrees, Deogarh is 10.7 degrees and Nuapada is 14 degrees. It has been a few days since winter came and the life has been disrupted due to the sudden onset of winter. As northerly dry air is flowing into Odisha, the outbreak of cold is said to be increasing. The weather department has predicted that the cold wave will continue in the next 24 hours and the temperature will drop further in various places. Along with this, the weather department has also issued a yellow warning to Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Deogarh district of West Odisha. It is recommended not to leave the house in the morning, not to ride a bike or travel outdoors in the morning and wear winter clothes to avoid the cold. Pets are asked to be kept under a roof, not in the open.
