Sambalpur SMC’s new attempts: Strike of cleaning workers against biometrics attendance, is it right ?

Sambalpur: In Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation, the sanitation system was disrupted after a one-day work stoppage was made by the domestic cleaning workers appointed by the Corporation to protest against the biometric attendance. Especially in the areas of the old city such as big roads and small roads, in the morning there were heaps of garbage piled up on the side of the road. After the discussion, the problem has been resolved and it is known that all the workers will join the work from Friday, SMC Commissioner Pradeep Sahu said.

It is worth noting that there were allegations that some of the sanitation workers appointed in Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation were not working properly, were not going to all areas regularly, and were not working for the specified time. That is why SMC has implemented periodic biometric sub-sponsoring with workplace photo. First government cleaners and then private workers were also included in it but some cleaners were opposing this biometric system. But after explaining that this is the government’s rule for every employee, everyone seems to have agreed.
