Sambalpur: Record Number of Bookings in Eco Retreats, Tourists are living in an average of 7 tents per day

Sambalpur: Enjoy water sports in the vast waters of Hirakud Reservoir in a tented five-star hotel. Along with the opportunity to enjoy the natural environment like Debrigarh, with such unique and pleasant facilities on the shores of the wide water of Hirakud at Jamadarpali Balbaspur in Sambalpur, Hirakud Eco Retreat started from 1st December 2022 for the third year in a row. There is also due to covid, last 2 years Hirakud Eco Retreat did not have such noticeable bookings. The state government also suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees. However, this year there has been an improvement. This year’s bookings are more than previous 2 years. According to the information of Hemant Pradhan, Deputy Director of Tourism Department, more than 400 Tent bookings have been made by the first week of February. It is said that an average of 7 tents are booked every day. Shri Pradhan said that it is good from the point of view of tourism and business. It will continue till February 28.

According to Information, 25 premium cottages have been arranged at Hirakud Eco Retreat this year.
8 thousand rupees and 1440 rupees GST have to be paid for 2 people staying in a tent for one night. On the other hand, GST has been placed on the price of tents for Saturday and Sunday nights at 9 thousand rupees. Last year, the price of tents at Hirakud Eco Retreat was Rs 12,000 plus GST on general and Rs 14,000 plus GST on Saturdays and Sundays. This year, while the corona restrictions were completely lifted, the prices of tents also decreased. This is also said to be a major reason for the increase in the number of tourists this year.
