25 Ward No. Modipara Shani Temple Gali Road has been dark for 3 days. As the street light was not on, people could not see even 10 meters ahead. SMC was informed from day one. But still the street lights could not be lit. Not only Modipara, the streets of the city are now in dark. The main road of the city is not visible due to poor street lights. People have expressed their displeasure about this and demanded that it be fixed immediately. Garbage is lying on the road near the Fatak overbridge. Even though the SMC sweeper was passing through that road, it was not picked up. As a result, there is a smelly environment about which people have complained to SMC. People claimed to get it cleared by posting on phone and social media. But garbage still lying on road.
People are complaining that SMC has the biggest hand in littering Sambalpur city. Such problems are seen due to non-cleaning on time, negligence of staff and non-removal of garbage despite complaints. So there is no solution. Almost 8 years have passed since the town council became a metropolis, but the people of Sambalpur have not been able to get the facilities of the metropolis till date. Be it street lights or cleaning, all are neglected. People complained about inefficient officers and lazy staff. An official of SMC said, as soon as the complaint is received, immediate steps are being taken to resolve it. Care is taken to ensure that there is no problem in providing services to the people.
