Sambalpur : Bulldozer rolls around Sahu Colony (Corex-Garh) , SMC’s Success, Promises made
Sambalpur: Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation has got achieved great success. The confiscation of Corex merchants previously notified has finally been lifted. The house of Corex merchants has evicted from the government land in the presence of the police. Bulldozers have moved around the Sahu Colony, which has known as hub of the Corex. On the first day, 16 houses were broken. The demolition work will continue tomorrow, said SMC Enforcement officer Shubhankar Mohanty.

The SMC Commissioner informed about the preparation of vending zone there by uprooting Sahu Colony. Therefore, the unlawful confiscation is said to be removed soon which is implemented today. Corex, local and foreign liquor, cannabis were sold openly in this area. In addition, there were allegations of prostitution going on here. Dissatisfaction also arose among the people.
Enforcement officer of SMC Subhankar Mohanty at the scene, Town Police Station, Dhanupali, Khetrajpur and Sadar Police Station IIC were present. In addition, three platoon force of police were deployed at the scene due to fear of disturbance during the evacuation. Corex, local and foreign liquor, cannabis were sold openly in this area. Therefore, the Metropolitan Corporation started preparing for the vending zone by removing the unlawful confiscation from there. For this, a vending zone has also been constructed in some nearby places. Therefore, the SMC commissioner promised to include it in the vending zone and vacate the government bus stand.
