Samalpur: Dubai-based Odia Father – Daughter Duo get qualified in Advanced Scuba Driving

Samalpur: Dubai-based Odia father-daughter scuba divers duo Priyadarshi Panigahi (47) and Tisya Panigahi (12) have created yet another history. Priyadarshi, a certified open scuba diver since 2012, dived to a depth of 100 feet in Redang Island, Malaysia last April 29. After completing 5 certified dives, he successfully qualified for Advanced Open Scuba Diver License on April 30. With PAIDR’s Advanced Open Scuba Diver, this father-daughter duo has qualified as an Advanced Scuba Diver.

It is worth noting that at the age of 10, in 2020, Tisya became the Scuba diver of Odisha. In 2022, she celebrated his 12th birthday with a 70-foot dive and became the Junior Scuba diver of the Odisha. Priyadarshi was an Open Scuba Diver which allowed him to dive only 18 meters until Tisya encouraged him and he has since trained himself and obtained her Advanced Opener’s Scuba Diver Licence. This advanced license will allow him to dive 30 meters (about 100 feet). Priyadarshi was trained by PADIR instructor and Malaysian citizen. Priyadarshi made this dive in the Redang Island on the coast of Malaysia in the South China Sea. Former minister and MP Late Sri Ballav Panigrahi and educationist Late Sunanda Panigarahi’s son Priyadarshi and granddaughter Tisya. Tisya is also the granddaughter of Dr. Raseshwari Panigarahi, former MLA of Sambalpur.
