Sambalpur: Dead Body was not touched due to being married to other caste, “Sambal” NGO cremated the dead body

Sambalpur: After the death of a man who is married to other caste, no one approached. None of the relatives, neighbors or villagers agreed to cremate the dead body. After lying inside the house for a day, the body was brought to Sambalpur from Kanchanpur near Kisinda, a remote Naktideul block, and the ngo organization “Sambal” cremated the body.

According to the information received, yesterday, Santosh Dehuri of Kanchanpur village near Kisinda married Monika Naik, a girl from another caste. Santosh Dehuri passed away yesterday. Monica requested her relatives, neighbors and villagers to cremate her husband. However, being of a different caste, no one cooperated. At the end, Monica requested Sarpanch Shuvendra Pradhan of local Girishchandrapur for cooperation.

On the written request of Sarpanch Shubhendra Pradhan and Santosh’s wife Monika, Sambal NGO went to Kanchanpur in deadbody ambulance this morning and brought Santosh’s body from there to Sambalpur. The body was cremated with dignity at the Kamlibazar Rajghat in Sambalpur. Sauri Panigarahi, Mukesh Bishi and Ramdas Panda assisted in the cremation of the body.
