Sambalpur: Mamata is showing the light of Education in a Tribal village

Sambalpur: A tribal village located in dense forest near Deoga panchayat Larasara in Maneshwar block of Sambalpur district along the border of Subarnapur district has been confiscated. The village belong to Jangli tribal community. They don’t even speak or understand the orthodox language properly. The indigenous people speak the Sadri language. In the morning, men and women go out to the forest to earn who gather bees and pluck roses. Father, mother, and small children also go to the forest. No attention to education.

Even if enrolled in a nearby school, children cannot recognize letters properly. They do not understand the importance of education in life. Mamata Badi, a young woman from a nearby village, has taken up the responsibility of connecting those children with education and understanding the situation of the students. Mamta opens up chatsali. For almost a year, he has been teaching these tribal boys and girls every morning from 7:30 to 9:30. when there is no fear of elephants, she taught children for 2 hours even in the evening. Because there is fear of elephants in the area from 6 pm to the morning. From threshing to harvesting, the elephant herd is busy. So at other times, Mamata educates the children twice a day.

Mamata’s house is in nearby Jamtikra village. Although born into a backward poor family, she has studied +2 through her own efforts. Her passion for teaching children and her service spirit draws her every day to the nearby village. At first, she wanted to educate the children in her village Jamtikra. But she did not get any children in her village. Later, she opened her own chatsali in Japti village, 2 km away. At first, she started teaching there with 7 children, but now 20 children are receiving education from her. Along with reading, she also teaches drawing, dancing, singing, and games. The intellectual development of the child is measured by weekly tests at the end of every weekend. She strives to make learning easy and fun. Fathers and mothers are also happy to send their children to her after seeing her lessons. Every day she comes to the forest road 2 km away with his father Surendra Vashti and takes responsibility of the children’s schooling.
