Sambalpur: Culprits introduced themselves as the police & looted gold jewellery
Sambalpur: Culprits came on a bike and stopped. They introduced themselves as the police and asked for gold ornaments. When he did not give up, they showed him a knife and robbed him. Such a rare incident happened in Sambalpur Dhanupali police station area.
Ramakant Meher of Town Thana Marwadipada was returning home from Meher Mandap on Tuesday afternoon. He was stopped by 2 people on a bike near India Bazar in Dhanupali Thana Charvati. They introduced themselves as policemen and asked why he was wearing so much gold on his hand and asked him to remove it. When Ramakant refused to give the gold, the miscreants brandished a knife and robbed him of 3 gold finger rings and a gold chain. After Ramakant lodged a written complaint at the Dhanupali police station, the police registered a case and started investigating the incident.
