A Historic Milestone: Prime Minister Unveils Abu Dhabi’s First Temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to the UAE, today inaugurated the first temple in the capital city of Abu Dhabi. Before the inauguration, the Pran Prathistha ceremony of the temple was completed and after the inauguration today, the Prime Minister offered pooja in the presence of priests. On this occasion, the Prime Minister addressed the representatives of 42 countries and thousands of devotees.
Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Swaminarayan Temple is 108 feet high, 262 feet long, and 180 feet wide, covering 27 acres and costing 700 crore rupees. The inauguration of the first Indian-style Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a historic event. Built in the desert, this temple is full of unique art.
It is the Middle East’s first traditional ‘Hindu Rock Temple’. The new BAPS Hindu temple, built on a sand mound, is being praised as a symbol of the Arab country’s cultural heritage.
