Sambalpur: In Sambalpur, the owner of Amazing Bakery, Alim Kamdar (31), was arrested along with four others for allegedly demolishing the homes of three poor families to seize government land without prior notice. The incident occurred in Sunapali under the jurisdiction of Dhanupali police station.
How the Incident Unfolded
The three families, Gudiya Begum, Mohammad Kalim, and Akash Bag’s families were living on government land beside a road in Sunapali. These families were extremely poor. Without any prior information, a group of young men arrived at the site yesterday evening, acting on the orders of Alim Kamdar. They used a bulldozer to demolish the families’ homes, reducing them to rubble.

Motive Behind the Incident
Reports revealed that Alim Kamdar intended to take control of the government land to use it as a parking area for his business. To achieve this, he orchestrated the demolition of the families’ homes.
Police Action
Following complaints lodged at the Dhanupali police station, the police quickly acted and arrested Alim Kamdar along with four others: Imran Ali (33) from Bhutapada, Mohammad Nousad (22) from Bihar, Sheikh Akhtar (25) from Sunapali, and Said Salamat (43) from Pension Pada. They were all sent to court.
