Sambalpur: In a shocking repeat incident, another burglary took place at a grocery store in the Rathasahi area of Redhakhol city. This is the second time in a month that thieves have targeted the same shop, despite police efforts to curb such crimes. The owner of the store, Bishwajit Das, filed a complaint at the local police station after the burglars broke into the shop, stealing approximately Rs. 15,000 in cash from the cash counter.
CCTV Footage Captures Thieves in Action
The incident was captured on CCTV, showing the thieves breaking open the door and entering the shop in the same manner as the first burglary. Using the footage, police have launched an investigation and are analyzing the recordings to track down the culprits. Despite the city’s regular patrolling, the thieves managed to carry out their plan undetected, which has raised concerns among local shop owners.

Previous Burglary Details
On the night of the 21st of last month, the burglars had similarly entered the store, stealing Rs. 7,000 in cash and cigarettes worth Rs. 80,000. Following this, Bishwajit Das reported the matter to the police, who registered a case (No. 252) and began their investigation. The police even brought in a scientific team and tracking dogs from Sambalpur to assist with the search, but the criminals have not yet been apprehended.
Ongoing Investigations and Public Concerns
Despite the investigation, the culprits remain unidentified. Following a recent theft, burglars struck again on the 7th, stealing a TV and three rice sacks from a government school. The increasing frequency of such crimes is frustrating local residents and shopkeepers, who are calling for stronger police intervention.
